Classes & Times
Junior Classes (7-15yrs)
Mondays: 7pm to 8pm
(school term time only)
Senseis Mark Eastman and Warren Hems teach the lively junior class for students from around seven years old.
Classes are a mixture of learning and fun, providing a strong foundation in the principles, discipline and techniques of Aikido, including introductory drills with bamboo sword and staff.
Parents are welcome to stay and watch.
Cost: £3.50 per class
(+ £15/year insurance)
Adult Classes (16+)
Mondays: 8pm to 9:30pm
(except bank holidays)
Wednesdays: 8pm to 9:30pm
Class content varies, but often begins with warm up, conditioning, and ukemi exercises, followed by specific Aikido techniques.
Classes may also include instruction in punching and kicking, self defence, knife defence, bojutsu (long staff), aikido sword and basic kendo drills.
Novices and experienced students, as well as those from other martial arts styles, are welcome to come and train.
Cost: £5 per class
(+ £20/year insurance)
After a couple of lessons you are expected to join the club and pay the annual insurance fee. Otherwise, you pay as you train. There are no monthly contracts, and no affiliation or grading fees.
